Exploring the integrity and aesthetic qualities of cardboard boxes, we had to investigate the relationship of text, pattern, form, construction techniques and composition.
Using a range of types of boxes, we had to construct a series of forms or panels that may be 2D, 3D or in relief.
I started by nailing cardboard boxes to the wall looking at the shape of them when opened and closed. Although the idea behind these pieces is quite simple I feel the final outcomes and layout are very successful.
There is a great contrast between the brown cardboard box and the white labels but also the different shapes within the structure work very well together. These images work really well due to the very square and straight structure of the cardboard boxes against the abstract shapes formed by the string.
