Life Drawing

As part of this course we are also completing a drawing certificate which includes two different topics, Life Drawing and Drawing and Mapping.
Studying Life Drawing has improved my observational drawing dramatically, I have enjoyed exploring line, shape and tone especially looking at the human figure as there are so many different elements to include. Through out the course my drawing will improve as practice makes perfect.
I have only completed one session of Life Drawing and here are the images I produced from that day.

We first began with a warm up exercise that explored mainly line, which is shown in the left image above. We were asked to draw several different poses over the top of one another and the rub them out leaving a faded outline of the images. Next we were asked to continue adding different layers of colour and line but using our opposite hand and with our eyes shut. I enjoyed this exercise as it allowed you to think outside the box, creating a new abstract piece.
The image on the right displays my final outcome created using mainly pastel, charcoal and collage.
